Other ways we can help
Beyond our core services, we offer a handful of additional supports for participants with more specific needs — respite, short-term accommodation, group-based activities and more. If you don't see what you're looking for, just ask.
Think of this as the
“everything else” page
Most participants find what they need in our main services — daily living, community participation, SIL, life skills, employment, transport, psychosocial, high intensity, or community nursing. This page covers the additional supports that don't fit neatly into those categories — things like occasional respite, a short-term stay, a group activity, or assistance with an assistance animal.
If you're not sure which service fits your situation, the fastest way is to just call us on 0411 727 133 and talk it through.
Respite & Carer Relief
Planned breaks for family members or informal carers who need time to rest, recharge, or handle other commitments. Respite can be in-home or centre-based and can run from a few hours to a few days at a time.
We arrange respite with continuity in mind — the same familiar workers wherever possible, so both you and the person you care for can relax.
Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
Short-term stays of one to fourteen days with supported accommodation, meals, and activities included. Useful when home isn't available (renovations, carer away), as a trial of independent living, or just for a change of scene.
We coordinate STA through trusted partner providers across Melbourne's east. Tell us what you're looking for and we'll find the right setting.
Group-Based Activities
Community activities delivered in small-group settings — ideal for building social confidence, trying new things, and connecting with others in similar situations.
Our small-group activities are always kept genuinely small (usually 2–4 participants) with consistent facilitation. Great for participants who want to stretch socially but would find large groups overwhelming.
Assistance with Animals
Support for participants with assistance animals or who keep companion animals as part of their wellbeing plan — help with feeding, walking, vet appointments, or general day-to-day animal care.
Pets matter, especially for participants managing isolation or mental-health conditions. We help ensure the relationship can continue even on the hard days.
Innovative Community Participation
Creative, non-standard community activities that don't fit traditional categories — volunteer placements, project-based engagement, peer support, cultural activities, and more.
If there's something specific you want to do in your community that you need support to access, bring it to us. We'll work out how to make it happen under your plan.
Skill-Building Workshops
Short, focused skill-building sessions on specific topics — cooking, budgeting, digital skills, self-advocacy. Delivered one-to-one or in tiny groups with other participants working on similar goals.
Workshops are built around your goals, not a fixed curriculum. Tell us what you want to learn and we'll build a session around it.
If it's not listed,
just ask
The NDIS is broader than most websites manage to capture, and your plan is unique to you. If there's something specific you're trying to make happen — and you're not sure whether we can help or whether it's even possible under your plan — call us. We'll read your plan with you and give you an honest answer.
